Job Details

We are immediately hiring for a Project Engineer in Fairless Hills, PA. We are looking for candidates that has the capacity for longevity in their career and finds excitement in the creation of products.

Working as a Project Engineer, you will be the authority/support person for various engineering projects in PAPI Growth Industries Solutions, Process Automation Process Industries (PAPI), providing technical details, costs and deliverables for sales proposals.

You will be responsible for providing hands on technical support under the direction of an Engineering Manager and Project Manager to perform standard engineering practices, using engineering principles, on all phases of project execution. This position reports to the Product Line Manager, HPR. The position has regular hours but it may vary with needs of customer. Flexibility is key in this role.

Your responsibilities for this position includes
  • Be responsible for design and execution of assigned automation projects from kick off through start up.
  • Lead the design and engineering project activities needed to develop an integrated process and electrical control solution to meet customer
requirements, including interpretation of control lists, customer drawings and schematics, P&IDs, electrical one lines and other customer
specifications.
  • Aid in development of a complete controls package submittal including electrical design, sequence of operations, and programming controller and
HMI (Human Machine Interface) applications using various company and 3rd party control/PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) systems, drawings,
bill of material, and test procedures.
  • Use IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) 61131 programming languages, configuring associated HMI terminals, designing field
communications with a variety of industry standard bus protocols and applying an understanding of Ethernet networked devices to design control
related networks.
  • Work as part of a team or individually, developing functional design specifications and supporting system test, installation, startup and
commissioning of the integrated systems.
  • Travel 10% of the time. This is rare but may occur for training or site assistance

Qualifications for this position includes:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Process, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar required.
  • Minimum 5 years of recent experience required
  • Experience should be in: Controls and HMI hands on work, Configuring control, Software and Hardware, Design experience in controls panels, BoM -
(Bill of material) and Submittal experience, Control programming, Data Center EPMS product and solution experience a must, Modbus
communications, EETools experience, E3 Zuken and /or AutoCAD experience is an asset, Experience in light and heavy industry control applications.
  • Experience with high power converters controls and systems used in the metal and chemical industries, with developing industrial processes in the
chemical, metal, rubber, glass and material handling areas.
  • Adaptable to working in new areas that could include, but not limited to, batteries, food/beverage and metal plating.
  • 800xA, AC800M (Control Builder), AC800PEC, AC500 (Automation Builder) and/or SLC/PLC-5 (RSLogix 500), Control/CompactLogix (RSLogix 5000)
programming.
  • Company's Process Panel/CP600 and/or Panel View line HMI programming.
  • System integration, automation and/or electrical controls design and engineering experience.
  • Experience in integration of 460VAC and/or 575VAC VFDs and other drive systems into control solutions.
  • Site start up and troubleshooting.
  • Electrical design and/or power distribution experience a definite plus
  • High Power Rectifier and Power Quality converter knowledge an asset..
  • Proven technical experience.
  • Project execution experience.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work in the US.
