Job Details:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Project Engineer to join our team within the Construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing various construction projects from the initial planning stages through to completion, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to work on a variety of projects including heavy civil and highway construction.

Responsibilities:

As a Project Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

1. Acting as the main technical adviser on construction sites for subcontractors, craftspeople, and operatives.
2. Setting out, leveling, and surveying the site; checking plans, drawings, and quantities for accuracy of calculations.
3. Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are in accordance with the specifications.
4. Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant.
5. Managing, monitoring, and interpreting the contract design documents supplied by the client or architect.
6. Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce involved in the project.
7. Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
8. Ensuring projects run smoothly and structures are completed within budget and on time.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on heavy civil and highway construction.
3. Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD.
4. Proficient in site layout, grading, utility design, regulatory approvals, and other civil engineering activities.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
6. Proven ability to solve problems creatively, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
7. Solid understanding of construction procedures, material, and project management principles.
8. Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
9. Project management and supervision skills.
