Our client is seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of Project Architect in their Anchorage, Alaska office. They are a collaborative, team-oriented working environment. The successful candidate will be licensed with 10 years’ minimum experience in commercial construction design over all design phase services. In lieu of license- 15 years’ experience and be on a license track. You should possess excellent oral and written communication and organization skills, have a technically proficiency with interdisciplinary coordination, construction detailing, and code analysis, and industry standards. Skills include hand and digital sketching representation skills for conveying design and detailing concepts. Experience with organizing and executing design development and construction documents is a must. This position coordinates with consultants, writes and coordinates specifications and technical documents, and provides project assistance to the Principal Architect.

The ideal candidate should possess the ability to recognize, capitalize and respond to the challenges and opportunities Alaska’s diverse, extreme, and evolving environment present- synthesizing a thoughtful, creative, informed and appropriate design response to bring together program requirements, site conditions, stakeholder mission and priorities, and exemplifying design excellence. This is a full-time, long-term position, with immediate staffing priorities in the healthcare design market sector. Thus- healthcare project work is a big plus, but institutional client experience in other sectors is also applicable their current project staffing needs. Job Details

Our client is seeking qualified applicants for to be their Project Architect Design Professional in our Anchorage, Alaska office! The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience on a broad range of market sector building types and work experience with the complete range of architectural services – from programming through all phases of design services, construction administration, and project close-out. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, be highly organized, technically proficient, and knowledgeable of building codes and industry standards while having a solid understanding of building systems and components. Our firm fosters a collaborative environment; working as a team player is critical to success. The position requires effective oral and written communication with clients, stakeholders, and design team members. The candidate should have excellent visual representation skills to convey design concepts via loose and refined design sketches and produced drawings, which is highly desirable. You will participate in all design stages, helping to lead the design team through developing contract documents and following through with construction administrative services. The candidate must coordinate with consultants, write specifications and technical documents, and provide project assistance to the Project Manager and Principal Architect.

General Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years industry experience
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Architecture
  • Licensed or 15 years’ experience / licensure track
  • Ability to work independently / be self-directed yet be collaborative & team oriented
  • Ability to prioritize work activities and consistently meet deadlines
  • Revit proficiency
  • Sketch-Up proficiency a plus
