Project Accountant

We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our rapidly growing architecture and design firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of our various engineering projects, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing essential support to our project management team.

Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all aspects of project accounting for assigned projects, including but not limited to, accounts payable and receivable, project budgeting, and financial analysis.
2. Utilize Deltek Vision to manage project costs and revenues, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
3. Review project plans and contracts to ensure accurate financial forecasting and budgeting.
4. Use Esker to automate and streamline accounting processes, improving efficiency and accuracy.
5. Conduct regular financial analysis to identify potential cost overruns or revenue shortfalls, providing regular updates to project managers and other stakeholders.
6. Prepare and file business tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
7. Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure all financial aspects of projects are accurately accounted for and reported.
8. Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the engineering, architecture or design industries.
3. Proficiency in Deltek Vision and Esker is required.
4. Strong understanding of project budgeting and financial analysis.
5. Experience in managing accounts payable and receivable.
6. Knowledge of business tax returns preparation and filing.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
8. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
10. High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical accounting practices.
