Are you an experienced project accountant looking for a challenging role in a dynamic and fast-paced industry? We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Permanent Project Accountant to join our team in the construction industry. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our financial department, managing all aspects of project accounting, construction accounting, subcontractor billing, lien waiver, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, AIA billing, and WIP. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong analytical skills and a firm grasp of accounting principles to contribute to our company's financial operations.

Responsibilities:

As a Project Accountant, you will be responsible for the following:

1. Managing all project-related records, including contracts and change orders.
2. Authorizing access to project accounts and transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial policies and procedures.
3. Preparing and submitting AIA billings and other project invoices, ensuring timely and accurate billing.
4. Managing subcontractor billing and lien waivers, ensuring all payments are made promptly and accurately.
5. Overseeing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling account balances, and resolving any discrepancies.
6. Preparing regular financial reports, including project forecasts and WIP schedules, for management review.
7. Collaborating with project managers and other team members to ensure all financial data and reporting is accurate and up to date.
8. Assisting with financial audits, providing necessary information and supporting documentation.
9. Continuously improving systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of project accounting functions.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the Project Accountant position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 1 years of experience in project accounting or a related role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Extensive knowledge of construction accounting principles and procedures, including project accounting, subcontractor billing, lien waivers, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, AIA billing, and WIP.
4. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
5. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
7. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
8. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion.
9. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
