SUMMARY: As our Process Development Engineer you will work with our customer and equipment and process engineers from the parent company. Your goals for the engineer are to create and enable new processes and equipment capabilities of a new or an extension of an existing platform. This will be the development of 3 different toolsets.

PROCESSES:
  • ALD, LPCVD, and Treatment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop new or modified processes.
  • Defines processing or handling equipment requirements and specifications.
  • Reviews processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of products. Involvement may begin at any step from pilot plant to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Coordinates design requirement review with appropriate engineering/scientific personnel to ensure compatibility of processing methods.
  • Compiles and evaluates test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications.
  • May conceive and plan projects involving the definition and selection of new concepts, equipment automation technology, and approaches in the processing or development of new or improved processes.
  • Gathers, assesses, and communicates development strategies to support future customer development needs.
  • Supports new equipment and process development and implementation at customer development sites.
  • Represents our position in customer meetings to support equipment and process issues.
  • Provides troubleshooting recommendations and hands-on support when necessary.
  • Review documentation to ensure accuracy and suggest improvements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in a related field such as Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Semiconductor Manufacturing.
  • Years of Experience: 4 years of hands-on equipment experience or 6 years of hands-on equipment experience with 300 mm semiconductor equipment platforms from other OEMs.
  • 3+ years of experience with developing LPCVD, (PE)ALD, (PE)ALE, and/or treatment processes.
  • Understanding of Semiconductor Processes, Metrology, and Defectivity Data:
  • Able to create, modify, and troubleshoot process recipes.
  • Possesses an understanding of general materials classes in terms of both recipe and hardware development, with a focus on CIP and new product opportunities.
  • Experienced in analyzing data from commonly used metrology techniques for assessing thin film physical, structural, and electrical properties.
  • Able to extract and troubleshoot trends in thin film properties with process and hardware vectors.
  • Able to analyze and troubleshoot process particle/defect trends and issues. Has significant experience with statistical software (such as JMP).
  • Preferred: Chemistry background (no precursor synthesis requirement) and/or in-depth experience in driving collaborations with material suppliers.
