Now that the product is deployed in client environments and showing room for improvement, someone needs to step in as the subject matter expert on the backend to free up time to the CTO and Director of Engineering on further advancements in development to keep up with needed improvements to the second version product.

Job Details
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Principal Database Engineer to join our fast-paced technology team. This role will be at the heart of our operations, playing a key role in ensuring the optimal performance, security, and reliability of our database systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex database systems, applying their expert knowledge of SQL, Azure, and other related technologies. This role will also involve working closely with other members of the technology team to develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the design, development, and implementation of large-scale database systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
2. Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views.
3. Utilize Azure SQL, Azure DevOps, and Azure Functions to develop and manage cloud-based database solutions.
4. Work closely with other members of the technology team to develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
5. Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from design to deployment.
6. Apply expert knowledge of TypeScript and C# in the development of database-related functions and applications.
7. Utilize CI/CD methodologies to automate the deployment and update of database systems.
8. Provide break/fix support for database systems, diagnosing and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner.
9. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in database technology and apply this knowledge to improve our systems and processes.
Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on database engineering.
3. Expert knowledge of SQL, including the ability to write and optimize complex queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views.
4. Extensive experience with Azure, including Azure SQL, Azure DevOps, and Azure Functions.
5. Strong proficiency in TypeScript and C#, with the ability to develop database-related functions and applications.
6. Experience with CI/CD methodologies, with a focus on automating the deployment and update of database systems.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
8. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
