Responsibilities:

As the Permanent Plant Manager, your main responsibilities will include:

1. Overseeing all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
2. Developing processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity.
3. Implementing strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
4. Monitoring operations and trigger corrective actions in a timely manner.
5. Share a trusting relationship with the workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff.
6. Commit to plant safety procedures, ensuring all legal health and safety guidelines are followed.
7. Address employees’ issues or grievances and administer collective bargaining agreements.
8. Influence and learn from below, staying informed of latest business news and trends.
9. Managing and optimizing the packaging and container handling processes to ensure maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
10. Developing and implementing cost savings strategies and initiatives to drive profitability and revenue growth.
11. Reporting on key operational metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the role of Permanent Plant Manager, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field, or equivalent work experience.
2. Experience in plant operations, preferably within the manufacturing/mechanical industry.
3. Demonstrated experience in managing and improving plant operations, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and profitability.
4. Proven track record in implementing cost savings strategies and driving revenue growth.
5. Strong leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to identify and implement effective solutions.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build strong relationships with staff and stakeholders.
8. Demonstrated commitment to health and safety, and a proven track record in promoting a safe work environment.
9. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
