Job Details

We are seeking a Plant Accounting Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will have a four-year degree in Accounting, preferably with a focus on Cost Accounting. The Plant Accounting Manager will be responsible for reporting plant performance levels and operating costs, and ensuring that data reflects a true representation of actual performance levels and operating costs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Book monthly Journal Vouchers to reflect true operating performance and costs of the plant while meeting corporate deadlines.

· Develop the plant's annual budget, which represents the true operating costs of the plant and is used to cost the product. Interface with all management and departmental supervisors to ensure the budget represents the true picture of each department's operating costs.

· Supervise the annual physical inventory and ensure that all items are reflected in the final inventory results. Summarize results and submit the final report to corporate accounting.

· Interface with all manufacturing departments.

· Supervise the Accounting Department personnel and oversee their areas of responsibilities, which include payroll, production reporting, and general accounting functions.

· Issue accurate weekly/monthly reports that reflect plant operating performance levels and can be used as tools in determining corrective actions.

· Monitor and police plant inventory levels through monthly inventory meetings and by routinely touring the plant for non-moving items.

· Analyze variance, research reporting problems, and submit results to plant and corporate management.

· Have a thorough understanding of the Company Standard Costing System and the ability to communicate it to plant personnel.

· Be aware of Safety and Environmental requirements applicable to raw materials.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

· Four-year degree in Accounting, preferably with a focus on Cost Accounting.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in plant accounting or cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all departments and levels of management.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

· Proficient in MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
