Summary
The Estimator will work with senior-level estimators and project managers to analyze bid documents and conditions to prepare accurate job costs for projects; verify costs with suppliers, labor, and subcontractors; and coordinate turnover efforts with the project manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost and labor estimates for products, projects, or services, applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles or processes.
• Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists.
• Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness.
• Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
• Consult with vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and walk-throughs.
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals.
• Schedule incoming quotes from subcontractors and material and equipment suppliers, hold turnover meetings on successful bids, and meet bid delivery dates.

Experience, Education & Skills

• Associate’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering and/or Piping Trade Experience
• Autobid and Quotesoft estimating experience is preferred
• One or more years of related experience
• Ability to interact effectively with others, both within and outside of the organization
• Strong analytic skills and financial analysis skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of estimating software
