SUMMARY:
As our Phased Array Feed Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and prototyping of phased array feeds for electronically steered antennas.

MUST HAVES:
  • Phased Array Antenna Design
  • Design of the elemental antennas for a phased array
  • Experience forming beams on multiple phase centers
  • Phased Array Feed or Phase Array Fed Reflector

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, prototype, and test phased array feeds for high gain antennas.
  • Generate patentable new technologies by starting from first principles to create novel antenna systems that have little or no prior art.
  • Model RF system behavior and validate RF system performance.
  • Work with teammates to integrate antennas with RF circuits.
  • Develop test methods, facilities, and techniques appropriate to the new technologies you invent.
  • Do performance and cost tradeoff analyses.
  • Evaluate and test new components and technologies.
  • Contribute to all phases of the antenna development life cycle, including requirements definition, systems and circuit design, integration of RF and wireless circuits and systems, testing, and manufacturing activities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelors or higher in Electrical Engineering
  • Design of elemental antennas and use of microstrip techniques, preferably at high frequencies between 10.7 GHz and 51.4 GHz.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and application of physics principles (like optics and antenna theory) in microwave systems.
  • Familiarity with RF concepts like propagation calculations, noise figure, intermodulation, etc.
  • Understanding of analog components and their limitations (e.g. power amplifiers, low noise amplifiers, mixers, and filters).
  • Experience modeling and simulating antenna structures, radomes, feed networks, and other microwave components.
  • Expertise in one or more EM simulation tool like HFSS or CST.
