Job Details

Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Payroll Specialist, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

1. Managing end-to-end payroll processing for our company, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.
2. Maintaining and updating payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in job classifications.
3. Assisting with the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other company-sponsored programs.
4. Reviewing and verifying timesheets, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
5. Processing paperwork for new employees and entering employee information into the payroll system.
6. Providing support to the HR team in various areas, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
7. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
8. Preparing and submitting reports on payroll and HR activities to senior management.
9. Collaborating with the accounts payable team to ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Payroll Specialist role should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

1. A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in payroll and human resources, preferably within the construction industry.
2. Extensive knowledge of payroll functions, including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
3. Strong familiarity with payroll software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
4. Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes.
5. Solid understanding of human resource processes and best practices.
6. Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
7. Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service orientation.
9. Knowledge of accounts payable and general accounting principles.
10. A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
