Job Details

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Payroll Manager with expertise in Prevailing Wage and Certified Payroll to manage our company's payroll operations. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely processing of full cycle payroll for a multi-state company with over 4,000 employees and maintaining compliance with tax regulations in accordance with federal, state and local laws. The payroll manager will be hands-on working with system development and automation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of payroll principles, payroll tax payments and calculations with a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.


Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee the processing of weekly and biweekly payroll for all companies, ensuring timely and accurate payments to employees
· Develop and implement processes to ensure compliance with all prevailing wage laws and regulations as we grow into new areas nationally
· Manage the company's certified payroll reporting process, including collecting and verifying employee payroll data, preparing reports, and submitting to the appropriate agencies
· Prepare, reconcile and process federal and sate payroll taxes
· Reviews and assist with quarterly and annual employer tax report/forms to ensure compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements
· Work closely with HR and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting of payroll information.
· Responsible for auditing, analyzing and verifying payroll records
· Lead year end to ensure accurate and timely W-2’s
· Partner with PaychexFlex services to ensure accurate and timely completion of all state and business unit quarterly tax filings, unemployment insurance payments, worker’s compensation payments, or other applicable state remittances as necessary.
· Continuously improve payroll processes and contribute to automation.
· Provide guidance and training to team members on payroll processes and procedures.


Qualifications:
· 5+ years of experience in payroll, with a focus on prevailing wage and certified payroll
· Deep understanding of payroll principles and compliance requirements
· Experience in multi-state payroll
· Ability to oversee the timely and accurate payroll for multiple nation-wide business units on multiple payroll cycles
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Proficiency in payroll software (Paychex Felex preferred) and Microsoft Excel
· Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
