We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Patent Legal Assistant to join our high-performing legal team. This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute their skills and expertise to a leading firm in the legal industry. The successful candidate will support our attorneys in patent litigation cases, ensuring that all case materials are accurately prepared, organized, and maintained.

Responsibilities:

As a Patent Legal Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Assisting attorneys in the preparation and filing of pleadings, motions, and other legal documents related to patent litigation.
2. Managing case files, maintaining case binders, and ensuring all relevant information is easily accessible and up-to-date.
3. Utilizing litigation support software, such as Relativity, to manage e-discovery and document review processes.
4. Coordinating trial preparation activities, including the creation of exhibits, witness binders, and trial notebooks.
5. Handling calendaring and docketing duties to ensure all deadlines are met and court dates are properly scheduled.
6. Providing administrative support to the legal team, such as drafting correspondence, scheduling meetings, and organizing case files.
7. Collaborating with other team members to ensure efficient case management and progress.
8. Keeping abreast of changes in patent laws and regulations that may affect ongoing cases.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Patent Legal Assistant position should have:

1. A minimum of three years of experience in a legal assistant role, preferably within IP or patent litigation.
2. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and experience with litigation support software such as Relativity.
3. Experience in trial preparation and participation, including the creation and management of case binders and trial exhibits.
4. Familiarity with the processes of calendaring and docketing in a legal setting.
5. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal personnel.
7. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence.
8. A detail-oriented approach, with the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies in legal documents.
9. A bachelor's degree in law, paralegal studies, or a related field is preferred.
