Operations Accounting Manager- Oil and Gas

Headquartered in Denver, we are a leading upstream Oil & Gas Exploration and Production firm dedicated to creating value through conscientious development of oil and gas resources.

We are looking for an Operations Accounting Manager to lead the Revenue, JIB, and AP departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper documentation and accounting operations by working closely with production, revenue, JIB, and regulatory.
Lead special accounting projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management.
Oversee the company’s transaction processing systems, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures per industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify discrepancies, mitigate risks, and improve internal controls.
Provide support with the integration of acquisitions or the divestment of assets, including due diligence.
Manage the delivery of financial information, ensuring timely response to regulatory remittances.
Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts and prepare monthly summaries of cash receipts.
Oversee year-end 1099 process.
Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies, as needed.
Stay informed of industry trends, changes in accounting regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and process optimization.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or finance.
A strong knowledge of oil & gas production, revenue, JIB, and regulatory accounting practices.
Progressive oil & gas operations accounting experience including compliance and regulatory agency reporting experience.
Oil & Gas accounting supervisory/management experience.
