Job Details

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Mortgage Processor to join our team. The Mortgage Processor will be responsible for reviewing and verifying mortgage applications, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate, and coordinating with various parties to facilitate the mortgage approval process. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of mortgage processing procedures.

Responsibilities:

Review mortgage applications to ensure all required information and documentation are provided.
Verify applicant information, including employment history, income, credit reports, and property details.
Communicate with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and other parties to obtain any additional documentation or clarification as needed.
Prepare and submit mortgage files to underwriting for approval, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Coordinate with appraisers, title companies, insurance agents, and other third-party vendors to obtain necessary reports and documentation.
Update loan processing software with accurate and up-to-date information throughout the mortgage approval process.
Follow up with borrowers and other parties to ensure timely completion of required tasks and to address any concerns or issues that arise.
Assist in resolving any discrepancies or problems with mortgage applications or documentation.
Maintain confidentiality and security of all applicant information and documentation.
Stay informed about changes in mortgage regulations, guidelines, and industry trends.
Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
Proven experience as a mortgage processor or similar role in the mortgage industry.
Strong understanding of mortgage processing procedures, regulations, and documentation requirements.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and other parties.
Proficiency in using mortgage processing software and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and tact.
