Mechanical Engineer (Heavy Mining Equipment)

We are a family-owned company, specializing in bulk material processing and handling solutions for a national market, operating across four divisions with approximately 150 employees. With its main fabrication facility and engineering team based in Bridgeport, the company also has facilities in Tucson and Seguin, TX, serving various aspects of its operations, including manufacturing and equipment sales.

SUMMARY: As your Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for heavy industrial design and detailing.

MUST HAVES:

• Bulk material handling for conveyors, screens, and screen towers in Mining
• Structural, concrete design, 3D modeling, Advance Steel, Autocad
• Mining infrastructure or Quarry infrastructure

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Heavy industrial design and detailing.
• Coordinate product design and development for equipment used in processing bulk material and aggregates
• Design and detail custom stationary conveying equipment and structures
• Perform design analysis for conveyors & structures
• Create detailed drawings
• Complete bills of material
• Evaluate and implement design changes
• Direct drafters on project design and check drawings for accuracy.
• Working knowledge of analytic modeling tools such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Utilizing modern software such as ERP system (ours is Syteline by Infor) along with 3D modeling (we utilize Autocad 2D & Advanced Steel 3D) to maximize efficiency in your role.
• Develop and grow a strong working knowledge of related company product sales and services
• Work with shop personnel.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related education.
• Drafting standards, dimensioning, and tolerances
• Mechanical power relationships such as horsepower, torque, speed, and ratios
• Shaft, bearing, and power transmission design and analysis
• Strengths of materials and structural analysis
• ASD/LRFD steel design code
• Mechanical engineering and machine design
• Conveyor design and applications
• CEMA specifications and standards
• Manufacturing processes such as (machining, welding, forming, and stamping)
• Training and/or experience in using 2D or 3D CAD software, Autocad is a must, and Advanced Steel is a plus.
• Commonly used software packages including MS Office
