Management Company Finance Manager

Our client, a Boston based Hedge Fund is looking to add a Corporate Accounting Manager to the team. Reporting directly into the CFO, this position will be a key member of the firm and take on many responsibilities within the back-office. The ideal profile for this position will be a candidate coming from another Hedge Fund or Private Equity Firm, or straight out of pubic accounting with industry experience.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses to support senior management decision-making processes
• Responsible for management company activities, including accounting close, financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, general accounting, and tax filing support
• Preparation of the annual budget for the Americas entities, and delivery of quarterly management reporting, variance analysis, and reforecasting as needed
• Manage operating costs and, along with Fund Accounting and Legal, oversee complex expense allocations between the management company and the firm's investment Funds
• Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with external auditors
• Supervise reconciliations of intercompany accounts and ensure timely recharges of expenses between management company affiliates and the firm's investment Funds
• Monitor and report on financial performance, highlighting key trends, issues, and risks
• Manage operating costs and, along with Fund Accounting and Legal, oversee complex expense allocations between the management company and the firm's investment Funds

Qualifications:

• Degree in accounting, CPA a plus
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Exposure to public accounting and management company accounting with an asset management firm is ideal
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Detailed oriented and team player
