We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant for our fast-paced laboratory. The successful candidate will have a strong background in chemistry and laboratory procedures, with a particular emphasis on maintaining and washing glassware.
Responsibilities:
As a Laboratory Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting laboratory scientists in their daily tasks, including but not limited to, preparing samples for testing, conducting routine lab tests, and documenting results accurately.
2. Managing laboratory inventory, ensuring all necessary supplies are always available and ordering new supplies as needed.
3. Cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining laboratory glassware and other equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
4. Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
5. Participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with the latest industry standards and techniques.
6. Collaborating with the laboratory team to troubleshoot and resolve any issues or challenges that may arise.
7. Conducting quality control tests and maintaining records for all laboratory procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Permanent Laboratory Assistant position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 1 years experience in a laboratory setting
2. A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field is preferred.
3. Proficiency in laboratory procedures, including the use of laboratory equipment and the preparation of samples for testing.
4. Experience in cleaning and maintaining laboratory glassware and other equipment.
5. Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures in a laboratory setting.
6. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
7. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of professionals.
8. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
9. Proficiency in using computer software and applications, including laboratory information systems.
10. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
