Job Details

We are seeking a highly motivated Jr. Estimator to join our lively construction team. This role is pivotal to our company's success as you will be responsible for preparing, coordinating, and managing cost estimates for various construction projects. Your role will be instrumental in securing new business opportunities and ensuring our projects are completed on time and within budget. This is a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects and grow within the company.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services.
  • Preparing and submitting budget estimates and cost tracking reports.
  • Working with the project management team to develop a comprehensive understanding of project strategy and commitments including financial goals, scheduling, logistics, phasing, milestones, and inspections.
  • Participating in proposal preparation and client presentations.
  • Collaborating with engineers, architects, clients, contractors, and subcontractors on project cost estimates.
  • Reviewing design options and recommending best solutions based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
  • Tracking and recording all project costs and ensuring that projects are completed within the cost estimates.
  • Identifying and quantifying potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of potential costs.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Construction Science, or a related field.
  • 1 year of experience in commercial or residential construction or internship
  • Experience with On-Screen Takeoff software for estimations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and accurately.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction estimation software.
  • Ability to work under pressure, organize and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, work effectively in a team environment, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors.
