Summary
The Industrial engineer will create, develop, and implement efficient manufacturing systems that reduce cost and/or increase throughput while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with manufacturing engineers to design cost-effective manufacturing layouts and building ergonomics for new product lines.
  • Optimizes work areas and factory layouts to reduce or eliminate waste and fatigue.
  • Leads cost savings and process improvement initiatives to ensure safety, quality, cost, efficiency, and lead time improvement initiatives are met.
  • Maintains knowledge of best practices in manufacturing methods, and trends and developments in technology and equipment
  • Communicates with leadership on the status of new products and process improvement initiatives.
  • Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
  • Develops and implements automation solutions to improve manufacturing processes.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred.
  • 5+ years engineering experience within a fabrication, assembly, machining, or tool die job shop manufacturing setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • PLC and Robotics experience strongly preferred.
  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred.

Skills
  • Proficient using Microsoft office suites (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Power-Point, etc.)
  • Proficient with CAD. SolidWorks is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of information.
  • Clear understanding of drawings, drawing conventions, layouts, and GD&T
