Job Details

Responsible for developing and managing Human Resources functions, including staffing and recruitment, company policies and procedures, legal compliance, training and development, workers’ compensation, and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain effective reporting systems for HR function, conducting surveys and special studies, preparing reports, and maintaining records.
  • Serve in an advisory capacity to management and supervision, making recommendations.
  • Organize company outings, banquets, and other events.
  • Represent the company in community projects and public/social gatherings.
  • Recruit, interview, and participate in selecting hourly production candidates for vacant or new positions.
  • Facilitate orientation of new employees, issue employment forms, review handbooks, and maintain personnel files.
  • Discuss personnel needs with department supervisors to prepare staffing plans.
  • Track job evaluation due dates, temporary employees, and turnover/absenteeism.
  • Plan and coordinate personnel training, formulate policies, programs, and schedules, and maintain training records.
  • Coordinate established training courses from community schools or outside consultants.
  • Develop quarterly awards programs such as length of service.
  • Schedule and conduct meetings with administrative and hourly personnel to advise on new or updated programs, HR status, problem-solving, and communication of HR activities.
  • Maintain relations with outside suppliers providing employee services and investigate new potential sources.
  • Participate in Strategic Planning, administer company policies, and develop short- and long-range goals.
  • Consult with Corporate HR to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Administer group health insurance, COBRA, FMLA leaves, and other benefit programs.
  • Set up and maintain workers’ compensation files, review and file accident reports, and work to reduce lost employee time and unjust claims.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA rules and regulations, perform reporting, and maintain logs.
  • Stay updated on OSHA programs, develop and implement related initiatives.
  • Generate injury, lost time accident, and safety cost reports, and maintain safety records.
  • Enforce environmental, health, and safety rules and regulations, ensuring neat and orderly work areas.

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of HR experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Previous experience recruiting, interviewing and performing employee orientations
  • Experience with plant safety and filing worker's comp claims
  • Experience with strategic planning
  • Assertive and self-starter mentality required.
  • Strong computer and communication skills essential.
  • Advanced communication skills; ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
