Interior Superintendent (Miami) - Vertical Construction - Build a Team

This Miami GC is looking for a person who is interested in getting in the weeds and not sitting in their car. This role is going to be the point person for the company and they would like someone to grow into the seat.

The focus is primarily luxury high rise buildings in Broward county but as far north as Palm Beach.

We are currently seeking a Senior Superintendent with a strong background in vertical commercial construction to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects, leading a team of professionals in the commercial construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the construction process, from planning to completion. They will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Superintendent will oversee the daily operations on the construction site and control the short-term schedule. The role also includes managing the project budget, ensuring quality and safety, managing subcontractors and staff while maintaining a positive environment. Key responsibilities include:

1. Overseeing all stages of project life cycle and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
2. Managing all site construction activities and supervising field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget.
3. Coordinating and supervising all construction activities, including those of trade contractors.
4. Maintaining construction schedule, identifying and solving problems.
5. Ensuring project documents are complete and identifying areas of concern regarding potential liabilities and risk.
6. Implementing and enforcing safety policies and procedures on site.
7. Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with approved contracts, drawings, specifications, and schedules.
8. Conducting regular meetings with project team to discuss progress and address issues.
9. Utilizing project management software, such as Procore, to track project progress and manage resources.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in the commercial construction industry, with specific experience in vertical construction. Qualifications include:

1. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Senior Superintendent in commercial construction.
2. Extensive experience in highrise and vertical commercial construction.
3. Proficient in using construction management software, particularly Procore.
4. Strong leadership and management skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
7. Knowledge of construction procedures, building codes, and safety regulations.
8. Ability to plan and organize a team effort.
9. Good client management and goodwill building capability.
10. Capacity to motivate, lead and boost morale of the teams.
11. Competent in conflict and crisis management.
12. Effective time management and logical decision-making ability.
13. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
