General Manager - Manufacturing

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Permanent General Manager to join our manufacturing team. This role is a critical leadership position that will oversee all manufacturing operations, ensuring that we meet our production goals while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in manufacturing management, machine manufacturing, budgeting and forecasting, and lean manufacturing principles. Responsibilities:

• Direct and manage all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality, and other production-related activities.
• Oversee the manufacturing process, ensuring that production runs smoothly, is cost-effective, and meets both internal and external quality standards.
• Develop and implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports the company’s overall objectives.
• Lead the implementation of lean manufacturing principles, driving continuous improvement in quality, cost, and delivery metrics.
• Prepare and control operational budgets, forecasting trends, and making corrective actions.
• Coordinate with other departments such as Supply Chain, Engineering, and HR to ensure alignment of activities and objectives.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Foster a well-trained and motivated staff by providing guidance, coaching, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Develop and implement a robust production tracking and quality control system, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports.
• Establish and maintain positive employee relations while upholding company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in manufacturing management, machine manufacturing, budgeting and forecasting, and lean manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices, as well as safety and environmental regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a high performance team.
• Exceptional problem-solving and strategic planning skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
• Proficient in MS Office and manufacturing software.
• Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) will be an added advantage.
