Job Details

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Conduct FPGA development encompassing HDL design, IP configuration, elaboration, synthesis, IO pin assignment, routing, etc., focusing on timing-critical applications.
  • Contribute to the advancement of cutting-edge software-defined radio (SDR) technology within a multi-disciplinary, multi-site team.
  • Perform troubleshooting on applications running on bespoke hardware.
  • Fulfill additional duties as delegated by the Program Manager and/or Top Management.

Required Abilities, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Proficiency across all facets of FPGA design flow, encompassing HDL design, IP configuration, elaboration, synthesis, simulation, testbench development, IO pin assignment, place and route, as well as constraining and meeting timing requirements.
  • Ability to debug and troubleshoot hardware, both internally within the FPGA (using tools like Signal Tap) and externally (utilizing oscilloscopes, triggers, spectrum analyzers, etc.).
  • Familiarity with FPGA aspects of embedded system design, including bus architecture, register definition, address allocation, etc.
  • Experience with standard communication protocols such as PCIe, I2C, SPI, etc.
  • Demonstrated commitment to achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process efficiency, and product quality and reliability.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Over 15 years of relevant industry experience post-bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop FPGA applications from inception to fully tested and integrated product delivery.
  • Experience with FPGA aspects of custom circuit board development, including interface definition, pin and IO format selection, and basic schematic comprehension.
  • Proficiency in Linux embedded system development, encompassing board support packages, device tree definition, basic kernel device development, etc.
  • Capability to debug and troubleshoot complete embedded systems, spanning from C applications to customized hardware.
  • Familiarity with Git for version control.
  • Knowledge of Intel or Xilinx development tools with VHDL.
  • Experience with the latest line devices and system-on-chips.
  • Proficiency in writing basic software applications in C to operate on an ARM processor.
  • Practical understanding of RF and microwave principles at a heuristic level.
