We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Financial Reporting Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting comprehensive financial reports, tax reports, and board reports, ensuring all financial information is accurate, timely, and in compliance with regulatory standards. This position requires a strong understanding of SEC Financial Reporting and experience ideally within the financial services industry.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports in accordance with SEC regulations and company policies.
2. Handle all aspects of tax reporting, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
3. Prepare detailed board reports, presenting financial data and insights in a clear and understandable manner.
4. Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial data and ensure accuracy of all reports.
5. Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing insights to support business decision-making.
6. Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation, ensuring the company's financial practices remain in compliance.
7. Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or advanced degree is a plus.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial reporting - life insurance industry experience required.
3. In-depth knowledge of SEC Financial Reporting and tax reporting requirements.
4. Proven experience preparing board reports and presenting financial information to non-financial audiences.
5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
6. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey financial information to various stakeholders.
7. High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
8. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
9. Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
