Financial Controller

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Financial Controller to join our team. This is a permanent position, offering the opportunity to play a critical role in our financial management and strategy. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial management, with expertise in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). You will be responsible for overseeing all financial functions including accounting, budget, credit, insurance, tax, and treasury. Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
2. Direct financial strategy, planning, and forecasts; conferring with executive management, understanding key business risks and ensuring these are being monitored and managed.
3. Supervise the investment and portfolio strategy in line with the company's objectives.
4. Develop and coordinate necessary and appropriate accounting and statistical data.
5. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.
6. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
7. Implement operational best practices and oversee all formal finance, HR, and IT related procedures.
8. Evaluate and manage business risks, ensuring that the company's assets are adequately safeguarded.
9. Review financial reports for ways to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
10. Work closely with executive management team on strategic planning and business operations.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
4. Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance, and information analysis.
5. Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g., SAP).
6. Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
7. Ability to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
8. Strong understanding and knowledge of GAAP.
9. Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills.
10. Ability to work with different departments and collaborate on financial projects.
11. High attention to detail and accuracy.
12. Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making.
