Job Details

**Location: Orange County (with occasional travel to Northern California)**

An experienced Field Operations Manager is sought for my client's environmental and civil construction projects. This role is crucial in overseeing soil and earth remediation and wastewater projects, ensuring successful project completion through effective management and team leadership.

**Key Responsibilities:**
  • Conduct estimator-to-project manager handoff meetings, ensuring alignment with standard operating procedures and project management workflow.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all project information, managing communication and information distribution to team members and subcontractors.
  • Oversee project cost tracking, manage construction budget, and handle changes in project scope, including preparation and submission of change orders.
  • Review and approve subcontractor payment requisitions, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
  • Coach, mentor, and supervise project team members and contractors, fostering a culture of empowerment and accountability.
  • Manage and hold Superintendents and Foremen accountable for their teams' performance.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships essential to project success.
  • Conduct project postmortems, providing insights for continuous improvement.


**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:**
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and associated production rates.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, adaptable to shifting priorities and project demands.
  • Ability to manage diverse teams and navigate potential conflicts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management and estimating software is a plus.
  • Understanding of financial concepts like Earned Revenue Recognition and AIA Progress Billings is beneficial.
  • Technical competence with various software programs, including Excel and Word.

**Education/Training:**
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is desirable.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in a project management capacity.
  • Experience in environmental remediation projects is preferred.
  • HAZWOPER certification is beneficial, or training will be provided.
  • Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
