Job Details

Under the direction of the Director of Construction, a Project Manager is responsible for the completion of high quality projects on time, within budget and within scope. This role will oversee all aspects of a project from start to finish by coordinating efforts involving the internal team, subcontractors, vendors, and owners/developers. The ideal candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills, be capable of adjusting to changing priorities from various directives, and be an effective communicator. This position will also contribute to estimating strategy as the acquisition team identifies and pursues new contract opportunities.

Job Duties:
  • Know and comply with all federal, state, local building codes, ordinances, and regulations, maintaining the highest standards for safety and quality
Manage relationships with all internal and external parties in order to clarify specifications of projects, resolve conflict, support success, and comply with contract requirements
  • Establish project schedules and delegate project tasks based on staff strengths, skills, and experience
  • Effectively communicate project needs to support staff and prioritize as necessary
  • Prepare budgets and manage throughout the course of construction until project completion
  • Secure and allocate all resources needed for the completion of the project including building permits, licenses, materials, equipment.
  • Negotiate, manage, and communicate changes to contract scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Plan and execute inspections, assess compliance and quality, minimize risk.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation including all construction administration documentation (i.e., submittals, RFI’s, and closeout documentation)
  • Regularly confer with Superintendents to monitor and evaluate construction progress, contract compliance, quality, and productivity.
  • Be a strong team leader, building synergy within and across project teams
  • Connect with team members with the intent to identify strengths and talents; develop, nurture, and challenge others.
  • Document all communications in writing using Procore as well as managing the document control on the company server
  • Ensure field staff is managing budget as it relates to labor and materials
  • Manage field documentation and ensure Daily Reports are complete and accurate, including all photo documentation
  • Seek to understand the SBA's 8(a) Program, federal acquisition processes, and what a PM must do to qualify for a "Satisfactory" or better CPARs

Requirements
  • 5 years of experience managing concurrently multiple construction contracts that have multiple trade requirements for the federal government - GSA, DOD, CBP, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Architecture preferred
  • Knowledge of business and management principles including budgeting and resource allocation
  • Reads, understands, and interprets construction plans, schematics, blueprints, drawings and technical manuals to determine appropriate construction methods
  • Knowledge of architectural, construction and design-build techniques, including self-performed work
  • People management skills and familiarity with basic California HR requirements
  • Solid computer skills, with working knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Project, Excel and Word.
  • Proficiency with construction software such as ECMS, RMS, and Procore
  • OSHA-30 certification and/or EM-385 certification
  • Valid driver’s license
