Family Law Attorney

Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in all stages of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, spousal support, domestic violence, and property division.
• Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation.
• Negotiate settlements in a timely manner, and advocate for clients at trial when necessary.
• Attend court appearances and conduct trials.
• Provide legal advice to clients, explaining the legal process and their rights and obligations.
• Maintain case files and manage case progress, ensuring compliance with legal procedures and timelines.
• Develop relationships with clients, providing them with regular updates and counseling them on their cases.
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to the firm's professional development initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Family Law Attorney.
• Admitted to practice law in the state and in good standing.
• Proven litigation experience, with a strong record of successful trial practice.
• Experience in domestic violence law is required.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to clients.
• Strong analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Experience in case management, including the ability to manage a high volume of cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents.
• Demonstrated ability to provide effective client counseling and legal advice.
• Experience in negotiation and mediation.
• Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently, but also to collaborate effectively with a team.
• Willingness to mentor junior attorneys and contribute to the firm's professional development initiatives.
