We are searching for a highly skilled and motivated Excavation Foreman to lead our team on various construction projects. This is a permanent position that offers an opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, from small scale residential to large scale commercial projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all excavation activities, ensuring the safety and efficiency of the site, and coordinating with other teams and stakeholders. We are looking for a candidate who is not only technically skilled but also a great leader and communicator.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all aspects of the excavation process, from site preparation to the completion of the excavation.
2. Supervise and instruct the excavation crew, ensuring all work is performed safely and to the highest standard.
3. Read and interpret blueprints and site plans, and ensure work is carried out according to the design.
4. Coordinate with other teams, including carpenters, utility workers, and project managers, to ensure a smooth workflow.
5. Manage the use of heavy machinery, ensuring it is operated safely and effectively.
6. Oversee the installation and maintenance of underground utilities.
7. Ensure all work complies with local and national construction regulations.
8. Manage the procurement and usage of materials and equipment, ensuring the project stays within budget.
9. Handle any issues or delays that may arise, finding effective solutions to keep the project on track.
10. Maintain detailed records of the excavation process, including any changes or adjustments made.
Qualifications:
1. 2+ years of experience as an Excavation Foreman or similar role in the construction industry.
2. Proficient in site work, excavation, site supervision, and blueprint reading.
3. Experience in mass excavation, utilities, underground utilities, excavating, site preparation, and carpentry.
4. Strong leadership and team management skills.
5. Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to make decisions quickly.
6. Knowledge of construction regulations and safety standards.
7. Ability to operate heavy machinery and equipment.
8. Good physical condition and stamina, with the ability to work in various weather conditions.
9. Excellent communication and coordination skills.
10. High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in construction management or a related field is a plus.
