Job Details

As a Construction Estimator at our client, you will play a vital role in the success of our projects by accurately assessing costs and providing comprehensive estimates. You will be responsible for managing the bid process, conducting post-bid analysis, and performing detailed cost estimate analysis to ensure the profitability and efficiency of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Bid Management:
Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to prepare and submit bids for construction projects.
Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand project scope, requirements, and constraints.
Analyze bid documents and conduct quantity take-offs to accurately estimate material, labor, and equipment costs.
Prepare bid packages, including cost breakdowns, schedules, and other supporting documents, in accordance with client requirements and industry standards.
Present bids to management and participate in bid review meetings to discuss pricing strategies and risk factors.

Post-Bid Analysis:
Evaluate bid results and assess competitiveness, including pricing, scope, and contract terms.
Collaborate with project teams to review successful bids and develop strategies for project execution.
Analyze feedback from clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to identify areas for improvement and inform future bidding strategies.
Maintain records of bid submissions, pricing data, and project outcomes for analysis and reference.

Cost Estimate Analysis:
Conduct detailed cost estimate analysis using historical data, industry benchmarks, and specialized software tools.
Verify and update cost estimates based on changes in project scope, market conditions, and other factors.
Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options to optimize project budgets.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to resolve discrepancies and refine cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle.

Estimating:
Collaborate with project teams to develop accurate and competitive estimates for construction projects of varying size and complexity.
Utilize construction drawings, specifications, and other technical documents to quantify project components and determine resource requirements.
Research material costs, labor rates, and equipment rental prices to ensure cost estimates reflect current market conditions.
Prepare detailed cost estimates, including material take-offs, labor hours, equipment costs, and overhead expenses, using estimating software and spreadsheets.
