As an Estimator in the Construction industry, you will be an integral part of our team, playing a key role in the success of our projects. You will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for various construction projects, ranging from commercial to industrial. This role requires an individual who can analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services. You will be working closely with project managers, engineers, and clients, ensuring that all estimates are accurate, competitive, and profitable.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed project cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for commercial and industrial construction projects.
  • Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and present cost reports, including forecasts, budgets, and value engineering.
  • Work with project teams to implement cost tracking and control measures.
  • Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
  • Participate in proposal preparation and client presentations.
  • Use specialized software, including Sage Timberline for estimating purposes.
  • Participate in project bidding, ensuring all aspects of the project are factored into the bid.
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to provide complete and accurate estimates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in construction estimating, preferably within commercial and industrial sectors.
  • Proficient in estimating software, specifically Sage Timberline.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
  • Excellent numerical skills and ability to produce detailed, accurate estimates.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proven track record in preparing estimates and managing cost on complex projects.
  • Knowledge of Project Estimation and Construction Estimating principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications.
  • Must be a team player, but also able to work independently when required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
