Estimator

We are in search an experienced Estimator to join our growing team in the civil construction industry. The Estimator is responsible for project bid documents, quantity takeoffs, subcontractor and supplies solicitations, labor productions, general conditions estimates and assisting in project start-up meetings for hand-off to operations. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our projects' financial planning, ensuring we deliver high-quality work within budget. This role is perfect for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and has a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing proposed plans and specifications.
2. Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
3. Perform risk and contract management responsibilities as required on bids.
4. Participate in proposal preparation and client presentations.
5. Evaluate construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans, using AutoCAD.
6. Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
7. Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
8. Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
9. Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction.
10. Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 6+ years of experience in project estimation, cost management, and construction estimating in the AEC or Civil industry.
3. Proficient in budgeting, cost analysis, and project bidding.
4. Expert knowledge of civil construction.
5. Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD.
6. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a high level of accuracy in calculations and attention to detail.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
8. Proven ability to negotiate and manage project costs and timelines.
9. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
10. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
