Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to join our team. This role will be integral to our operations, providing key insights and strategies in the planning and execution of our civil construction projects. This role requires a deep understanding of construction management and project management, with a particular emphasis on estimating, InEight, Blue Beam, Accubid, and advanced Microsoft Excel. The ideal candidate should have 3+ years of experience, previous project engineer experience is a plus!

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Estimator, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Preparing detailed cost estimates of entire projects or components of projects.
2. Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
3. Using specialized software including Blue Beam, Accubid, and advanced Microsoft Excel to optimize estimating and project management processes.
4. Participating in proposal preparation and client presentations.
5. Assessing cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
6. Consulting with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
7. Conducting special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction.
8. Reviewing material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
9. Collaborating with the project management team to ensure that projects are carried out according to plan and within budget.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Permanent Estimator role will have:

1. A minimum of eight years of experience in civil construction estimating or a related field.
2. Proficiency in Blue Beam, Accubid, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
3. Strong knowledge of construction management and project management principles.
4. Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
5. Strong communication and presentation skills.
6. The ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
7. A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
8. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
9. A proven track record of producing accurate and timely estimates.
10. Experience with InEight software is a plus.
