Estimator - Mechanical

Job Details:

As a Permanent Estimator - Mechanical, you will be a vital part of our construction team, playing a key role in the successful completion of our projects. You will work closely with our project management team, clients, and contractors to provide accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems. This includes HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical piping systems. You will also be responsible for conducting mechanical systems analysis and using CAD software to create detailed designs. This position offers a unique opportunity to combine your technical expertise with your understanding of the construction industry to contribute to the successful completion of our projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical piping. This includes material, labor, and equipment costs.

2. Conduct mechanical systems analysis to identify potential issues and recommend solutions.

3. Use CAD software to create detailed designs for mechanical systems.

4. Work closely with project management team, clients, and contractors to ensure that cost estimates are accurate and comprehensive.

5. Review project plans and specifications to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risks.

6. Participate in project meetings to provide updates on cost estimates and discuss potential issues.

7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, new technologies, and changes in regulations that may affect cost estimates.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating, with a focus on mechanical systems in the construction industry.

2. Proven experience as an HVAC Estimator, Plumbing Estimator, or similar role.

3. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical piping.

4. Proficiency in CAD software.

5. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to conduct detailed mechanical systems analysis.

6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

7. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate and comprehensive cost estimates.

8. Familiarity with construction industry regulations and standards.

9. A degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.

10. Certification as a Professional Estimator or equivalent is a plus.
