Looking for a dynamic and dedicated Employment Litigation Associate to join our team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who is passionate about employment law, possesses strong litigation skills, and has a keen interest in the finance industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of employment-related cases, providing legal advice on employment and benefits matters, and ensuring compliance with EEOC and IDHR regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive legal advice and guidance on a wide range of employment and benefits matters, including but not limited to employee relations, performance management, terminations, and employment policies.
  • Manage all aspects of employment litigation, including discovery, depositions, motions, trial preparation, and trial.
  • Conduct internal investigations in response to employee complaints and advise management on appropriate actions based on investigation findings.
  • Develop and implement employment policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and mitigate legal risks.
  • Represent the company in proceedings before federal and state courts, and administrative agencies such as the EEOC and IDHR.
  • Collaborate closely with Human Resources and other departments to provide legal advice and guidance on employment and benefits matters.
  • Keep abreast of changes in employment law and proactively advise management on potential impacts and required actions.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the state and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in employment litigation, with a focus on the financial services industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling EEOC and IDHR matters.
  • Proven track record in employment and benefits counseling.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong commitment to client service and demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships.

This is a Hybrid role in the Chicago Area
