Job Description:

Are you a licensed Electrical Engineer with a strong background in electrical system design for building projects? Do you have a passion for creating innovative and energy-efficient lighting and power solutions? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team and work on a diverse range of projects in the heart of Chicago.

Qualifications:
** Highly preferred valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Illinois. ** Junior level candidates with EIT will also be considered.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in electrical system design, with a focus on lighting and power systems for buildings.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical drawings; experience with Revit is a strong plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Chicago building codes and national electrical standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical System Design: Lead and participate in the design and development of electrical systems for various building projects, including lighting, power distribution, and auxiliary systems.

Code Compliance: Ensure all electrical designs adhere to Chicago building codes and national electrical standards, staying current with evolving regulations.

Project Planning: Collaborate with project managers and team members to establish project goals, budgets, and timelines while considering client requirements and energy efficiency goals.

Electrical Load Calculations: Perform electrical load calculations and distribution studies to optimize system efficiency and safety.

Technical Documentation: Produce detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and reports, and take responsibility for all AutoCAD work, with proficiency in Revit as an added advantage.

Energy Efficiency: Incorporate energy-efficient and sustainable design practices into lighting and power systems to minimize environmental impact and operating costs.

Quality Assurance: Oversee quality control processes, conduct inspections, and provide technical support during construction to ensure the successful implementation of designs.
