Job Details

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer/Project Manager for a position in Charlotte. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of assignments using standard design engineering techniques for small projects or segments of large projects. Your goal will be to develop project designs that meet industry standards, are within budget, and completed on time. You will work under the supervision of the EOR and with the support of senior design staff to continuously develop your skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Take responsibility for project designs under the supervision of the EOR
Develop design approaches and concepts with conceptual input and oversight from EOR
Conduct specific engineering studies and design analyses using industry software
Oversee preparation of drawings, ensuring accuracy and neatness of work
Evaluate the work of design colleagues and provide feedback and/or corrections
Attend meetings with owners, clients, or architects as needed
Coordinate with local authorities, utilities, and municipalities to incorporate associated construction, code, and government requirements
Assist with developing the overall man-hour budget and take responsibility for the man-hour budget within the discipline
Develop work plans for the discipline team in accordance with the budget
Provide input, feedback, and updates on project schedules; plan work in accordance with the schedule
Perform studies, load calculations, and equipment selection appropriate to the project design
Coordinate equipment and overall design space requirements with the architect and other disciplines
Attend in-house project kick-off meeting and design meetings
Review work for technical accuracy and completeness prior to the final QA/QC review
Communicate design requirements and answer questions from contractors and suppliers during the bid or construction phases
Conduct project job site visits during construction to monitor progress and observe installed construction; make comments based on design specifications, owner expectations, and building codes
Review shop drawings and submittals
Maintain detailed records of communications with clients, contractors, vendors, and team members
Assist in training, mentoring, and/or developmental guidance of designers and EITs
Focus on keeping up with industry trends and changes through continued self-education and training
Assist the Project Manager in facilitating some project duties as required
An ideal candidate will possess the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited college with eight years of applicable experience in discipline design and analysis
Registered Professional Engineer
Must have project management experience
Healthcare building design experience preferred
Revit experience is a must
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies
