Electrical Design Engineer

Our client is a well-respected and award-winning leader in the consulting engineering, commissioning, and construction management industry. Their services include commissioning, construction management, energy, specialty lighting design, fire protection and LV technology and the markets they cover include aerospace, healthcare, higher-education, K-12, federal, specialty manufacturing as well as ports and harbors. Currently they are looking to add an Electrical Design Engineer to support their healthcare division, and this will be a full-time permanent role with a hybrid schedule out of their Long Beach office.

Responsibilities:

• Review existing as-built drawings.
• Perform field investigations.
• Set up drawings and models for multiple disciplines.
• Collaborate with team members regarding design coordination, schedules, and deliverables.
• Perform feasibility studies.
• Prepare schematic designs.
• Perform energy calculations using EnergyPro or IES VE.
• Develop single-line diagrams and load schedules.
• Design lighting selection and controls.
• Design normal, emergency, and renewable power systems.
• Perform Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination Power System Studies.
• Experience with low voltage building systems (Fire Alarm, Security, Voice/Data, Nurse Call) systems a plus

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering Field
• California Building Code
