Job Details:

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data.
2. Operate computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment or conventional drafting station to produce designs, working drawings, charts, forms, and records.
3. Analyze building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs.
4. Work with architects, engineers, and other professionals in producing plans and drawings.
5. Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data.
6. Use AutoCAD 3D, Microstation, and Bluebeam to create, update, and modify drawings.
7. Coordinate structural, electrical, and mechanical designs and determine a method of presentation to graphically represent building plans.
8. Draw detailed and rough 3D or 2D designs of buildings, components, or structures based on preliminary concepts, sketches, or notes.
9. Manage and organize all project-related drawings and documents.
10. Participate in project meetings and conference calls as required to understand and discuss design requirements.

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in drafting, design, or a related field in the construction industry.
2. Proficiency in CAD Drafting, AutoCAD 3D, Microstation, Bluebeam, and other drafting software.
3. Extensive knowledge of building codes and regulations.
4. Structural and/or Mechanical Engineering experience preferred
5. Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in work output.
6. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and clients.
7. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
8. A degree in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
10. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
