We are an established, family-owned building materials company that has been in business for more than 100 years. We provide full-service lumberyards, window, door, and cabinet design centers, pro-oriented hardware stores, and innovative building solutions for both commercial and residential clients.

We have recently remodeled our Redwood City showroom and are searching for an enthusiastic Outside Sales Representative who is looking to grow their career in the building materials business. The ideal candidate will bring some knowledge and experience in the construction business with the desire to build a strong client network in this industry. We offer an excellent training program and will consider entry-level candidates.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company goals and sales targets.
2. Identify potential clients through prospecting and cold calling, and convert leads into sales.
3. Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business.
4. Present, promote and sell our financial products and services to prospective clients.
5. Conduct market research to understand competitors and market trends.
6. Provide feedback to the company regarding customer concerns, issues, and market opportunities.
7. Deliver presentations and demonstrations of our financial products and services to potential clients.
8. Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits.
9. Coordinate with the internal team to ensure client needs are met and any issues are resolved promptly and effectively.
10. Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, including calls, meetings, and closed sales.
11. Prepare and present accurate sales proposals and quotes to prospective or current customers
12. Develop relationships with existing and potential customers through personal and phone contact, ensuring completion of plan take-offs, bids and quotes, answering questions, and solving problems

Qualifications:

1. 1-2 years of experience in sales, prospecting, outside sales, and cold calling.
2. Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
3. Some knowledge of building materials, building processes, and local building codes.
4. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
5. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
6. Proficient in using CRM software and other sales tools.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle difficult situations.
8. High level of self-motivation and ability to work independently.
9. Bachelor's degree is preferred
10. Ability to travel for client meetings and presentations.
11. Experience in door & window sales, new construction, and/or commercial projects is preferred
