We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Director of Offsite Purchasing to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to our organization's success and will play a critical part in the strategic planning and execution of our purchasing operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the construction industry, specifically in managing offsite purchasing.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
2. Direct and manage the activities of purchasing department to achieve the company’s goals and objectives.
3. Oversee the procurement of all offsite materials, equipment, and supplies required for projects.
4. Review construction drawings and specifications to determine the most cost-effective procurement plans.
5. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure the best quality and cost-effectiveness.
6. Collaborate with project managers to understand project requirements and timelines.
7. Develop risk management procedures to mitigate any potential supply chain disruptions.
8. Ensure compliance with stormwater pollution prevention plans and other environmental regulations.
9. Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand and conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and vendors.
10. Ensure all purchasing activities align with the company's sustainability initiatives and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in offsite purchasing within the construction industry.
3. In-depth knowledge of construction drawings, construction contracts, and residential construction.
4. Experience with stormwater pollution prevention plans and other environmental regulations.
5. Proven ability to negotiate contracts and build relationships with suppliers and vendors.
6. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
7. Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills.
8. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. Proficiency in purchasing and project management software.
10. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
11. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
