We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Finance to join our healthcare team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a finance executive with operational experience and a proven track record of creative problem-solving to join a high-growth, mission-driven organization. The Director of Finance will play a critical role in partnering with the senior leadership team in strategic decision making and operations as our organization continues to enhance its quality programming and build capacity.

Responsibilities:

The Director of Finance will be responsible for the following:

1. Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the executive team; administer and review all financial plans and budgets.
2. Monitor progress and changes and produce high-quality financial reports on a monthly and annual basis.
3. Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors.
4. Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department’s overall policy and procedure manual.
5. Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters to the board of directors.
6. Oversee the financial performance of the organization with the delivery of comprehensive monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
7. Develop financial business plans and forecasts.
8. Participate in corporate policy development as a member of the senior management team.
9. Engage the finance committee of the board of directors to develop short, medium, and long-term financial plans and projections.
10. Represent the company to financial partners, including financial institutions, investors, auditors, public officials, etc.
11. Remain up to date on nonprofit audit best practices and state and federal law regarding nonprofit operations.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

1. Minimum of a BSc, ideally with an MBA/CPA or related degree.
2. At least 5 years of overall professional experience; ideally 6+ years of broad financial and operations management experience.
3. The ideal candidate has experience of final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination for either a division or significant program area.
4. Ability to translate financial concepts to – and to effectively collaborate with - programmatic and fundraising colleagues who do not necessarily have finance backgrounds.
5. A track record in grants management as it relates to compliance and reporting of government, corporate and foundation grants is essential.
6. Technology savvy with experience selecting and overseeing software installations and managing relationships with software vendors; knowledge of accounting and reporting software.
7. Commitment to training programs that maximize individual and organization goals across the organization including best practices in human resources activities.
8. A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making.
9. Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
10. Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of the organization.
11. Knowledge of healthcare industry financials, including financial reporting & analysis, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, process improvement, decision support, financial planning, financial modeling, business analysis, corporate finance, financial accounting, strategic planning, internal controls, and financial auditing.
