My client is an architectural firm seeking a Director of Design. This person will lead a talented design team and shape the aesthetic and functional direction of their architectural projects. Asan integral part of their leadership, the Director of Design will pioneer innovative design solutions, ensuring that the firm remains at the forefront of architectural excellence in the Sarasota region.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Lead the process of creating and developing the fundamental design principles to guide all office projects from the earliest stages of its conception and continue to assist in its development and refinement through subsequent design and documentation phases.
• Collaborate on the strategic, firm-wide design and creative initiatives that are crafted to continuously elevate the firm profile in our core markets as well as the design community.
• Support the development of the entire design team by working with each member individually as well as plan and lead weekly design team meetings.
• Generate design concepts and conduct precedent research.
• Review graphic quality of design presentations and documents.
• Organize and participate in design charrettes.
• Coordinate, prepare for and attend relevant client and prospect meetings.
• Acts as an internal and external ambassador for the firm.
• Contributing and enhancing the company culture.
• Special projects including management.
• Client Relations.
• Participate in prep work and execution of presentations.
• Process Collaboration.
• Business Development.

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Exceptional design vision and creativity, with the ability to conceptualize and articulate design ideas effectively.
• Strong leadership capabilities, with experience guiding and inspiring a team.
• Proficiency in architectural software, including but not limited to Revit, InDesign, SketchUp, Enscape and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timeliness and quality.
• Strategic thinking with a focus on long-term design evolution and innovation.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture or related field.
• 10+ years of architectural design experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior design role
• Architectural License
• Demonstrated portfolio of innovative and impactful design projects.
• Experience in client relationship management and business development in the architectural industry
