Director of Behavioral Health

• The ideal candidate is BSN or masters prepared as an RN and has managed psych/behavioral health patients and has management experience.
• Monday – Friday day shift
• Looks over about 40 FTE’s, including 2 supervisors under it that will report up, manage and develop psychiatric nurses.
• Will oversee Psychiatric Nursing team, Behavioral Health techs, and supervisors in an observation unit. Patients are housed here until they are moved to an inpatient psych department. Because many psych come through the ED, we partner with that staff a lot. We help with training and educating ED nurses on how to handle psych patients. If a psych patient is on another floor and assistance is needed, our team will be called to assist.
• We are expecting growth and expansion, so this team will grow!

What are the key responsibilities of this leader?

• Managing inpatient psych and behavioral health patients
• Streamlining processes throughout our multisite system, bringing psychiatric nursing expertise to a general medical setting
• Coaching and mentoring staff to be experts in inpatient psych.
• Help train and educate non-psych nurses on how to treat our patients
