They are currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Director of Internal Audit. In this role, the selected individual will be responsible for leading and overseeing the strategic planning and execution of the annual work plan for the Internal Audit Department. The Director of Internal Audit will play a crucial role in conducting risk assessments, evaluating internal controls, and providing expert counsel on financial and operational matters. This role will contribute to enhancing the organization's internal audit processes, ensuring compliance with professional audit standards, and making recommendations for continuous improvement. This position offers a significant opportunity to lead and manage a team while contributing to the overall effectiveness of the company's internal audit function.

Qualifications:
  • Professional certification such as CIA, CISA, and/or CPA.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in finance, accounting, auditing, or consulting.
  • Broad audit experience, including financial, operational, business process, and inventory audits.
  • Experience dealing with multi-establishment entities
  • Ability to work independently at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong PC skills including Word and Excel.

Job Details

  • Develop and oversee the strategic planning of the annual work plan for the Internal Audit Department.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify organizational risks and align audit resources with high-risk areas.
  • Direct and execute audits, evaluating internal controls, policies, and procedures in accordance with professional audit standards.
  • Plan and execute audits and assessments of company operations and business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement to minimize risk.
  • Collaborate with company leaders to define audit objectives, scope, and timing; coordinate schedules and gather necessary materials for review.
  • Prepare interim and final audit reports, adhering to professional auditing standards, and provide detailed findings with recommendations for remediation.
  • Provide expert counsel to senior management on financial and operational challenges.
  • Offer guidance to departments in establishing effective internal controls and make recommendations for areas lacking sufficient controls.
  • Make recommendations and implement changes to protect interests and minimize exposure.
  • Prepare written reports and oral presentations for the Board of Trustees.
  • Manage and lead a team of Internal Auditors as assigned.
