Design Project Manager - Modular Construction

We are a leading design firm dedicated to delivering exceptional and innovative design solutions. We specialize in modular design, utilizing our DMMA+C process (Design for Modular Manufacturing, Assembly +Construction). We pride ourselves on fostering creativity and pushing the boundaries of design excellence. We are currently seeking a talented Design Project Manager to join our dynamic team and contribute to the successful delivery of design projects.

Responsibilities:

• Consultant Management:

Identify, contract, and manage external design consultants on multiple concurrent projects.
Cultivate strong relationships with consultants to ensure project alignment and success.

• Solicit Consultant Pricing/ Proposals:

Develop and execute a strategic approach to obtain competitive pricing and proposals from design consultants.
Evaluate proposals to ensure they align with project requirements and budget constraints.

• Consultant SOW Development:

Collaborate with design consultants to define a comprehensive Scope of Work (SOW) and project deliverables.
Ensure accuracy and alignment of SOWs with project objectives.
Continuously define and improve consultant SOW statements.

• Schedule Management:

Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of design milestones.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to manage and adjust ongoing schedules as needed.

• Cost Management:

Monitor project costs and budgets, identifying potential issues and proposing corrective actions.
Collaborate with finance and project teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

• Project Billing (Pencil Requests):

Oversee project billing processes, including reviewing and approving invoices.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project financial records.

• Drawing QA/QC:

Implement a robust quality assurance/quality control process for design drawings.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, code requirements and project specifications.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Project Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Design Project Manager in the design industry.
• Strong knowledge of design project management principles and practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in project management software/tools.
• Ability to manage multiple design projects concurrently.
• Modular experience is preferred, but not necessary.
