Job Details:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Defense Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our legal department, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of civil litigation and defense litigation cases. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a strong background in civil litigation, civil defense litigation, depositions, and prepared motions. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment where your legal expertise will be highly valued.

Responsibilities:

1. Direct and manage all phases of litigation to include pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, and trial preparation.
2. Provide legal advice and guidance on matters of defense litigation to the organization.
3. Develop and implement defense strategies, conduct legal research, and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations.
4. Represent the company in court and argue motions and appeals.
5. Prepare and draft legal documents such as contracts, depositions, and pleadings.
6. Negotiate settlements for legal disputes.
7. Comply with all legal standards and regulations.
8. Collaborate with a team of attorneys and paralegals.

Qualifications:

1. Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with at least 3 years of experience in civil litigation and civil defense litigation.
3. Proven experience in depositions, writing samples, and prepared motions.
4. Strong understanding of the engineering industry and its legal environment.
5. Excellent negotiation, research, and communication skills.
6. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
7. Proficient in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
8. Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
9. Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.
10. Ability to handle high levels of confidentiality.
11. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present complex legal concepts to non-legal personnel.
