Job Details:

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Permanent Cost Accountant to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This role is integral to our financial operations and requires a professional with a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of cost accounting principles, and a passion for financial analysis.

Responsibilities:

As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for the following:

• Conducting job cost analysis and maintaining standard labor and overhead rates, ensuring accurate and timely cost information.
• Performing cycle counts and physical inventory, ensuring accurate record-keeping and identifying discrepancies.
• Preparing detailed account reconciliations and analyzing variances, providing insight into financial performance and trends.
• Assisting with month-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide cost information and financial insights, supporting business decisions and strategy development.
• Ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes in financial regulations.
• Participating in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness in cost accounting processes.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• MBA, CPA or CMA is preferred but not required.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in job cost analysis.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting in the Manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close process.
• Exceptional analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and demonstrating proactive problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
